span Span (NISO JATS/BITS table model)
The number of columns that will share the <col> or <colgroup> element’s
attributes. (This attribute is based on and intended to be converted easily to the
XHMTL
span attribute.)
OPTIONAL (defaults to 1) on elements: <col>, <colgroup>

| A counting number | How many columns will have the same attributes, for example, “3”. |
| Default value | 1 (The attributes are for this column only.) |
