<compound-subject-part>

Compound Subject Part Name

Individual component of a multi-part subject (for example, subject term, code for the term).

Remarks

Subjects are used, typically, in searching and discovery or to provide headings for groups of book parts in a printed or online generated Table of Contents. This element can name one of the components of a subject when that subject is a multi-part subject rather than a simple subject.

Best Practice: The @content-type attribute should be used to indicate the type of the various subject parts, for example, “text”, “code”, “sponsor”, “taxonomy number”, etc.
