<funding-statement> Funding Statement

Displayable prose statement that describes the funding for the research on which a work was based.

Usage/Remarks

A Funding Statement is required, for example, for research funded in whole or part by the Wellcome Trust. The statement may mention the funding source, Principal Investigator, or other funding information, such as the Award Identifier, Award Description, or Support Source.
Best Practice — For best practice, the statement should reiterates in text form (but not replace) the more complete description of the funding and support for an article that should appears within the <funding-group> element.
