<conf-acronym>

Conference Acronym

Short, popular, or jargon name for a conference (for example, “Extreme” for Extreme Markup Languages, “SIGGRAPH” for Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics).

Remarks

This element has been provided for searching convenience when the jargon name is better known than the full formal conference name.
A conference acronym often includes the year of the conference (for example, “SGML ’97”) or, less often, the conference number (for example, “AMBA 6”). It is preferred, but not required, that the acronym exclude this year or number (thus using “SGML” or “AMBA”) and putting the year or number in the <conf-date> and <conf-num> elements, respectively.

Related Elements

The container element <conference> holds all the elements that may be used to describe a conference, where an article was originally presented at a conference. Those elements include the conference related elements: <conf-date>, <conf-name>, <conf-num>, <conf-loc>, <conf-sponsor>, <string-conf>, <conf-theme>, and <conf-acronym>.
